Adventist young people gathered at Nile Union Academy for a congress focused on faith, practical learning, and commitment to Jesus. Eight Egyptian youth were baptized during the event.
Adventist youth from across Egypt gathered at Nile Union Academy, a large boarding school, for a four-day congress under the theme “A Place for You.” The event took place between October 7 to 10 and had the participation of around 100 young people. The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Egypt organized the event to bring young people together for worship, learning and fellowship. The participants represented Adventist youth from different parts of the country.
Pastor Girgis Malak, youth leader of the Adventist Church in Egypt, was responsible for managing the congress. Across the four days, the program combined morning devotionals, evening worship meetings and workshops. Its schedule gave participants opportunities to reflect on their faith and discuss subjects connected to everyday life.
Youth Congress Program
Four workshops addressed communication, health, keeping the seventh-day Sabbath holy, and Adventist marriage. The topics covered a range of interests: how people communicate, care for their health, observe the Sabbath, and think about marriage within the Adventist community. The congress provided a setting for youth to consider these subjects alongside other young people and church leaders.
Worship formed a regular part of the program. Each evening, participants gathered for meetings that included worship in Arabic, led by a group of young people, and a sermon by Pastor Samir Berbawy. In the mornings, Pastor Alex Clemente led a devotional. These meetings gave the congress a daily rhythm of worship and reflection, with youth taking part in the evening worship and leaders sharing messages and devotionals.
Organizers hoped participants would leave having learned more about Jesus and how to live their lives with Him. They also hoped the young people would be able to share the gospel. The theme, “A Place for You,” reflected the congress’s invitation to youth to come together, take part in the program and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
One of the event’s significant moments came when eight young people decided to give their lives to Jesus through baptism. The group included two girls and six boys, all Egyptian. Their baptisms marked personal decisions made during the congress and were a central outcome of the gathering.
For the participants, the four days brought together teaching, worship and a public expression of faith. The workshops addressed practical topics, while the morning devotionals and evening meetings kept attention on spiritual life. The congress concluded with the hope that the young people would carry what they learned into their daily lives and share the gospel in their communities.
