Making Time for God in a Busy Life

Making Time for God in a Busy Life

Life can become busy without us even noticing. Between work, studies, family responsibilities, church activities, and the time we spend on our phones, our days can quickly fill up. Before we realize it, we may have spent hours doing different things without taking even a few quiet moments to connect with God.

We may still believe in Him and want to grow spiritually, but sometimes our relationship with Him becomes something we postpone until we have more time. We tell ourselves that we will pray longer tomorrow or read our Bible when things become less stressful. The problem is that there will almost always be something else asking for our attention.

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. This reminds us that our relationship with God deserves a place at the center of our lives, not simply the time we have left after everything else is finished. Putting God first does not mean neglecting our responsibilities. It means allowing Him to guide us through them.

Spending time with God does not always require long prayers or hours of Bible study. It can begin with a few quiet minutes in the morning, reading a passage from Scripture, talking to Him honestly about your day, or reflecting on His goodness before going to sleep. What matters is making space for a genuine relationship with Him.

Just as friendships grow through communication and time together, our relationship with God grows as we continually seek His presence. When we spend time in His Word, we begin to understand His character, recognize His guidance, and remember His promises during difficult moments. Even a short moment with God can help us approach the challenges of our day with a different perspective.

If you have been feeling distant from God lately, do not think that you need to have everything in order before coming back to Him. You do not need perfect words or a perfect routine. Start where you are. Open your Bible, say a simple prayer, and take the first step.

God is not asking you to have a perfect schedule. He is inviting you to build a relationship with Him. No matter how busy life becomes, you can always make room for the One who gives your life meaning. Sometimes, the most important part of your day is simply stopping for a moment and remembering that God is there, waiting to spend that time with you.
